East Midlands Ambulance Service (Emas) has again topped an NHS league table for taking legal action against people who attack its paramedics.
Latest figures from NHS Protect, which collects the information, show that in six of the last seven years Emas has led the way among ambulance services in winning punishment against people who abuse its medical staff.
A total of 69 cases of assault were reported by Emas staff during 2014/15.
These resulted in 45 cases in which sanctions were issued....
