A live First World War hand grenade was detonated in a city centre park late last night.The grenade was handed in at the city's central fire station, in Lancaster Road, by a man who said he found it in a canal while out walking and decided to drive it to the station.Leicestershire Police put up a 15m cordon around the fire station and contacted the Army bomb squad.The Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) unit from the Royal Logistic Corps, based at Chilwell, near Nottingham, confirmed the grenade...
