A mother and son killed in a car crash on Friday have been named locally as Amrit and Taran Gill.
According to friends, they were on their way home with other family members from a meal out in Leicester when the tragedy occurred at 9pm, on the A50 Bradgate Hill, between Groby and Markfield.
Police have said the family's Mercedes was in collision with an Audi travelling in the opposite direction.
Amrit and her teenage son, Taran, were pronounced dead at the scene.
