A man has appeared in court to face a charge of robbing a shop of cash last weekend.
Avnish Mahendra Vaghela, of Pendlebury Drive, Leicester, is accused of robbing the shop in Welford Road between 4pm and 4.45pm on Saturday.
The 34-year-old has been charged with robbery and threatening a person with a bladed article.
He appeared at Leicester Magistrates' Court yesterday and was remanded in custody.
He is due to appear at Leicester Crown Court on Monday, February 1.
