A convicted murderer who brutally attacked two inmates in prison gyms - causing serious head injuries by bashing them with weightlifting bars - has been given a second sentence of life imprisonment.
Ex-squaddie, Stephen Branscombe (46) inflicted a skull fracture and bleeding on the brain to an inmate who was exercising in Gartree Prison, near Market Harborough, on April 18 this year.
He carried out the attack after a prison guard briefly left the gym.
