There's no doubting the location of this fine photo – Granby Street, at the crossroads with Belvoir Street and Rutland Street, in Leicester.The date is around 1907 and this rare colourised postcard is remarkably sharp and well-defined.Thankfully, many of these elegant buildings are still with us – with notable exception: that in the middle distance, on the left-hand side of the road.It has a distinctive and ornate skyline of pinnacles, pediments and a turret topped by iron finials...
