More than six out of 10 people were referred to their GP after it was found they were at risk of developing Type 2 diabetes.
The figures emerged following a series of Know Your Risk road shows organised by Diabetes UK in conjunction with Leicester City Council, Tesco and Royal Mail.
A total of 454 people visited the shows.
At one event 61 per cent of the people was found to be a moderate or high level risk of developing Type 2 diabetes.
