A motorist had a narrow escape after his car burst into flames at the side of a busy road.
The fire service was called to the A511, at Sinope, near Coalville, at 8.20pm yesterday.
A spokesman said: "We received a call from the driver, who had fortunately managed to get out of the vehicle safely."
Two pumps from Coalville station were mobilised and the road closed by police close to the Ravenstone turn.
